ABOUT

Artist-in-Vacancy (AIV) is a creative initiative of Newburgh Community Land Bank (NCLB) to address vacancy & abandonment in Newburgh by re-imaginng vacant sites as places for community engagement, artistic production, aesthetic & cultural research, and renewed inhabitation. Conceived in 2016 while Diana served as Design Director at NCLB, Artist-In-Vacancy moves into its 3rd year with the continued vision of bringing artists and the community together through projects that challenge spatial, psychological, political, socioeconomic, and local stigmas associated with vacant spaces throughout the city.
